Our two annual Weekend Intensives offer a unique opportunity for mental health and human services professionals to directly experience Gestalt therapy in a safe and supportive setting. The weekends are part of our training program but are open to all mental health/human service professionals. They are particularly helpful for those considering entering our training program, as it gives them a real sense of what Gestalt therapy is, what our training program is about, and who we are as a community.
THE SETTING:
The weekends are spent in a beautiful conference center in the foothills of the Connecticut Berkshires, on 500-forested acres, on the Housatonic River. In this beautiful setting you will have time to relax, meet informally and enjoy nature. Recreational opportunities include hiking along the river or on wooded trails, and stargazing. The center also includes a small workout room. Yoga and meditation are optional. Winter recreation includes hiking and sledding. The conference center is known for its food, which is prepared from scratch and features regional cuisine. It is quite good, even by New York City standards, and dietary concerns are always accommodated.

THE PROGRAM:
In winter, the focus of the weekend is on experiencing Gestalt therapy as a client. In summer, the focus is on experiencing Gestalt therapy as a practitioner. In addition, each weekend has a specific learning theme.
THE COMMUNITY, THE FUN:
Although we work intensively, there's always time for walking in the woods and just being with friends.
