Find a Gestalt Therapist

Low Fee Gestalt Therapy

Our low fee treatment center offers counseling and psychotherapy referrals to qualified Gestalt therapists and counselors who are enrolled in our advanced post graduate training program. Currently we offer in person, online and hybrid therapy sessions based on the client’s schedules. Clients meet with our therapists at our location in the Flatiron District of New York City (37 East 28th Street in Manhattan).

The treatment center works to help clients connect with a therapist who meets their financial and personal needs.

Alumni and Faculty Referrals

We also offer referrals to Gestalt Center graduates and faculty. Many of our graduates accepts insurance plans or offer sliding scales. Our therapists are located at the Gestalt Center, throughout Manhattan, in Brooklyn, Queens, Rockland County, and parts of New Jersey.

WHO ARE THE THERAPISTS?

Gestalt Therapists are . . . ever unfolding, growing, alive people who make themselves available to those in psychic pain. They are attentive, interactive, responsive, self-aware, non-judgmental, patient and respectful, unique, willing to be open about who they are, flexible, ethical, honest, playful, accepting, creative, artists.

Each Gestalt therapist will be different, not a clone or imitation of Fritz Perls, the founder of Gestalt Therapy, or of Marilyn Rosanes-Berrett, the founder of our Center, or of any other teacher, but a vital catalyst in a creative process between the client and therapist.

Our therapists are skilled professionals of diverse ethnic, cultural and personal backgrounds (some bi-lingual). They come from a variety of training disciplines, including licensed social workers, psychologists, counselors and psychoanalysts.

WHAT ARE THE FEES?

Fees are set on a sliding scale basis.

Out of work? No insurance? On a limited income? Therapy is still available to you. We even have special student rates.

WHAT ARE YOUR SPECIALITIES?

We work with a diverse group of clients, many coming to us when they are adjusting to a new situation, dealing with relationship problems, or experiencing anxiety and depression. We work with our clients in a present centered, somatic approach to support them in these experiences. Our therapists come from many backgrounds and offer sessions in Spanish, French, Japanese, Mandarin, Italian, Hebrew and Arabic. We also have many therapists who specialize in LGBTQ+ population.

WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE?

All therapy and counseling inquiries are welcome and will be responded to promptly. After the intake session at our midtown office in Manhattan, the client is matched as soon as possible with an appropriate therapist. The client and therapist then arrange for a consultation at the therapist's private office.  Once the contact is made between the therapist and client, all fees are paid directly to the therapist and the Center is no longer involved, unless there is a problem or another referral request.

We do not have a walk-in clinic.  To arrange for a referral to a therapist, or for further information, contact us at (212) 387-9429 or email us at Treatment Center Referrals .

Please note: the Gestalt Center for Psychotherapy and Training is not a psychiatric or crisis intervention facility.  If you are experiencing suicidal thoughts you must dial 911 or go to your nearest hospital.
